Questions & Answers

Here are some common questions and answers to help you learn more about the security and protection services profession.

When should I hire a Private Investigator?

Step 1

There are many reasons to hire a professional Private Investigator. Our clients come to us when they need to:

  • Obtain information on the whereabouts, identity, conduct or credibility of a person or company
  • Conduct background checks or searches of potential business partners or companies
  • Pre-screen an applicant or business partner
  • Check the legitimacy of a potential investment
  • Help research a crime, wrongdoing or threat
  • Investigate a scene or interview a witness
  • Access up-to-date computer databases of public records
  • Computer forensic services

When do I need professional Security and Protection services?

Step 1

Reasons vary by your personal circumstances. Our clients usually fall into three categories:

  • Due to extenuating circumstances, you feel the need to ensure your home and family are safe and secure while the circumstances/threat are handled. (Limited engagement)
  • You are a celebrity, politician, or other high-profile individual that feels the need for a private security detail - on an as needed basis, or 24/7/365 scenario.
  • You are a business needing a security risk assessment to determine vulnerabilities, and recommendations for remediation.

What is an Expert Witness?

Step 1

By definition, an expert witness is a person who is permitted to testify at a trial because of special knowledge or proficiency in a particular field that is relevant to the case. To be considered an expert and eligible to testify, the judge will ask the private investigator qualifying questions related to their background, education, and experience. At Whitman CSSPI we are considered expert witnesses for 'use of force' cases, blood-spatter evidence, and many other areas of expertise.

Is there a fee for consultation?

Step 1

No, at Whitman CSSPI we never charge a consulting fee on your initial call with our professional services team. We view this call as a discovery conversation - once we have the details of your unique situation, we will draft a proposal for your review. Our proposals include a road map for the services you require as well as our project costs.
